Captain's Journal

The Captain's Quarters is drenched in famous... and infamous... Keys history.  Originally built in the 1960's, the home sits on the northern edge of what was once the well-known "Russell Estates".  Having changed ownership several times over the decades, at one point it became the focal point of local news.  The largest modern-day pirating operation in the history of the Florida Keys was exposed here at the turn of the century.  After the 'dust settled' and after changing ownership several more times thereafter, it was acquired by its current owners and long-time Conch Republic nostalgics.  The purchase of the home marked the end of a long search for the perfect Keys getaway... the ideal location for a 'relaxing adventure' (as oxymoronic as it sounds).  It also heralded the beginning of a much-anticipated journey to transform the home into a berth that any ship's captain would be proud to call his own.
